200

Well, this is blog post 200…for those of you keeping track (which is probably no one). So, I feel like it should at least be noteworthy.
Life is good, as well roll in the the waning days on 2008. It’s downright cold in San Diego (in the 30s at night!) and as I see snow in Las Vegas on the news, the phrase “when hell freezes over” comes to mind.
Here’s a list of things my oldest sister sent to me. Maybe something to keep in mind during the holidays…and as we move into a new year.
- When you wake up in the morning complete the statements, “My purpose today is _____. I am thankful for _______.
- Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It’s the ultimate anti-depressant.
- Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes a day. Think or pray about what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.
- Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in a plant.
- Drink green tea, cranberry juice, grape juice, and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild salmon, broccoli, almonds, and walnuts.
- Try to make at least three people smile today.
- Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out credit card.
- Life sometimes isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
- Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
- Make peace with the past so it doesn’t spoil the future.
- Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
- Frame every so-called disaster with these words: “In five years will this matter”
- Forgive everyone for everything.
- Your job won’t take care of you when your sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.
- When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You’ll be smiling before you know it.
- Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: Today I accomplished _________. I am thankful for ___________.
So, if you haven’t puked already…then have a nice day!
