Free Stuff Really Is Priceless

Everybody is selling something. Even schools sell education…and the promise of increasing your value if you buy their service.
When the economy started to tank last year, I wondered how ZenMastering would fare. I’m glad to say we’re doing quite well…in some ways better than normal. I attribute the business’s stability to a few factors…none of which I can certainly verify. But one that I think is true is that I put a lot of effort into transmitting good information. Or, I give a lot of useful information away via my blog and published magazine articles.
Ultimately, of course, I want musicians and record labels to pay for my services. But I also just love writing about my experiences in audio and passing on tidbits from my work, and I can’t help but think that makes a connection with people.
