From Ohm to Om — The ZenMastering Blog

Thoughts on the world of audio recording, mixing, and mastering.

Agnosticism

Posted on | August 7, 2009 | No Comments

I was having a conversation with an long-time musician friend the other day (and soon to be client), and we were discussing digital vs. analog processing. I told him — and he agreed — that great results can be had with either platform…or a combination of both.

It made me realize that the best thing an audio engineer can do is be technology agnostic. Getting tied to a specific format or platform is ultimately shortsighted because one can never be the answer for every recording. But using your ears and experience will lead you down the right path every time.
